The Rowans is a state of the art development from Sussex Housing & Care, working in partnership with Wealden District Council.
The new development was completed in October 2011 and provides an innovative solution to a housing problem facing Wealden District Council.
Wealden District Council, like most councils in the UK, has a severe shortage of family homes to meet demand within its district. At the same time, Sussex Housing & Care is committed to providing attractive, quality housing for older people in the area.
So, by promoting The Rowans to council tenants aged 55 and over who are currently under occupying family homes, the project can offer a 'win win' for both parties. New residents will enjoy living in a brand new, state of the art property, while Wealden District Council effectively create 19 'new' family homes.
